Configuring Your Digital Loan Application: Lending Settings Guide

Overview

This guide will walk you through managing your Lending Settings within the Glide Dashboard. These settings control the "member flow" of your digital loan application, including the starter screen text, available loan categories, and credit pull logic.

Accessing Lending Settings

  1. Log in to your Glide Dashboard.

  2. On the left-hand sidebar, navigate to Configure.

  3. Select Settings.

  4. Ensure you are on the Lending Settings tab.

Updating General Flow Settings

The General Flow section defines what applicants see on the general loan application landing page (e.g. /loans/apply)

  1. General Starter Screen Title: Enter the primary headline (e.g., "Low Rates, Flexible Terms").

  2. General Starter Screen Description: Provide a brief subtitle or instruction (e.g., "Find your best rate with no credit impact").

  3. General Starter Screen Icon: Click through the available 3D icons to choose the visual that best represents your overall lending brand.

Updating Apply for a Loan Section

The Apply for a Loan Section allows you to toggle and change what appears in the Apply for a Loan Section on the onboarding page.

  1. Change Status: Use the dropdown in the Status column to switch a category between Active (visible) or Hidden.

  2. Add a Category: Click the + Add Category button to include a new loan type.

    1. Complete: Type, Select icon, Select Status, Add Deep Link

    2. Add Custom Categories for products not supported within Glide. Simply input the external URL to ensure applicants are sent to the correct external landing page.

  3. Edit/Delete: Click the three-dot menu (...) on the far right of any row to move the category up or down. Add/Delete any Custom Categories.

Configuring Credit Pull Settings

These settings determine how the system handles credit reports.

Credit Report Lifespan: In the Credit Report ACTIVE field, enter the number of days a report remains valid before a new refresh is run automatically.

Configuring Credit Tiers

These settings determine how the system handles credit tiers.

Adjust the From and To ranges to match your institution's specific scoring brackets.

  • Check the Unlimited box for your highest tier (typically starting at 760+).

  • Default Tier: Use the Default Tier for No Credit Score dropdown to set the baseline for applicants without a hit.

Updating Disclosures

Ensure your legal language is up to date by editing the text blocks at the bottom of the page:

Format Your Link: Use standard Markdown syntax to create the hyperlink. Place the text you want the user to click on inside square brackets [] followed immediately by the URL in parentheses ().

  • Syntax: [Text to Click](https://your-link-url.com)

  1. Draft Your Disclosure Text: Combine your legal language with the formatted links. Following your example:

    By tapping "Get Started", you agree to the User Agreement and Privacy Policy.

  2. Check Character Limits: Keep your total disclosure text under 250 characters to ensure it displays correctly for the end user.

  • Starter Screen Disclosure: Visible before the user begins.

  • Submission Disclosure: Shown right before the final "Apply" button.

  • Soft Pull Disclosure: Specific language authorizing the initial credit check.

Saving Changes

After making any adjustments:

  1. Click the Save button in the top right corner.
