Overview

Glide provides flexible options for financial institutions (FIs) to configure how ChexSystems runs during the account opening process. This guide covers decisioning logic, automatic configurations, and manual execution of ChexSystems checks.

ChexSystems Decisioning

Financial institutions can choose between two decisioning methods:

  1. ChexSystems Decisioning (Default) – Uses the decision returned by ChexSystems: Approve, Deny, Review. This is our standard configuration and 90%+ of FIs use this strategy.

  2. QualiFile Score-Based Decisioning – The FI can base approvals on the QualiFile score (ex. 700) rather than the standard Approve/Deny/Review decision.

Limitations:

  • Glide cannot make decisions based on QualiFile reason codes (e.g., DL, DE, etc.) or ChexSystems history (e.g., number of closures, outstanding debt, inquiries).

  • If the FI wants to update how ChexSystems categorizes Approve, Deny, or Review, they must contact their FIS/ChexSystems representative to configure their decisioning strategy.

Configuring Automatic ChexSystems Checks

By default, Glide automatically runs ChexSystems in the following scenarios:

  • New Memberships – Runs a ChexSystems check when a new member is applying.

  • New Checking Accounts – Runs a check when a new checking account is added to a member profile.

Alternative Configurations:

FIs can request customized rules for running ChexSystems automatically:

  1. Avoid re-running within 30 days – If a ChexSystems check was already performed within the last 30 days, it will not automatically run again.

  2. Run on every new share – Runs a ChexSystems check whenever any new share (account type) is added, regardless of if it is a savings, checking, or share certificate.

  3. Skip for existing checking accounts – If the member already has a pending or approved checking account (whether added via Glide or pre-existing), ChexSystems will not automatically run for additional checking accounts.

To update these configurations, contact your Glide Customer Success Manager (CSM) for assistance.

Manually Running ChexSystems

Staff can always initiate a manual ChexSystems check at any time, even if an automatic check has already been performed.

To run ChexSystems manually:

For a primary applicant:

  • Navigate to the member’s profile page.

  • Click the kebab menu in the top-right corner.

  • Select Run ChexSystems Report

For a specific role (joint owner, trustee, etc)

  • Locate the applicant or member in question.

  • Click the kebab menu (three dots) underneath the Role Table.

  • Select Run ChexSystems Report

This ensures staff can override automatic configurations when necessary and perform real-time risk assessments.

For any additional questions or customizations, reach out to your Glide CSM.
