Glia Chat Integration

Last updated: February 16, 2026

Overview

Glia is a digital customer engagement platform that enables financial institutions to offer real-time support — including live chat, video, and co-browsing — directly within the member flow experience. In Glide, this integration is referred to as Glia Chat.

When enabled, Glia Chat gives your members access to in-app support during the application flow without leaving the Glide experience.

How It Works

Glia Chat is a configuration-level integration — meaning it can be turned on or off for each financial institution without any custom development work. When enabled, Glide automatically loads the Glia chat widget across all member-facing screens, including the application flow and review pages.

Each FI's Glia setup requires two things:

  1. Glia Chat enabled — A simple on/off toggle in the FI's Glide configuration.

  2. Script URL — A URL provided by Glia specific to your institution (e.g. https://api.glia.com/salemove_integration.js).

Once both are in place and deployed, the Glia widget will appear for your members automatically.

Enabling Glia Chat

To enable Glia Chat for your institution:

  1. Confirm your Glia script URL — This is provided by Glia during onboarding. It is typically in the format https://api.glia.com/salemove_integration.js.

  2. Request enablement — Reach out to your Glide DPM to have Glia Chat turned on for your institution. Provide the script URL from Step 1.

  3. Deploy — Once the configuration is updated, Glia Chat will go live with your next deployment.

No development work is needed on your end.

Glide (via configuration)

Glide is responsible for loading the Glia widget within the member experience. Everything related to the chat experience itself — including how the widget looks, when it appears, agent routing, and conversation history — is managed directly through the Glia platform by your team.

Limitations

  • Member app only — Glia Chat is not available in the Glide Dashboard.

  • No server-side integration — Glide does not sync user sessions, initiate chats, or process webhooks with Glia.

  • No Glide-side customization — Widget styling, placement, and behavior are controlled entirely within Glia.

  • One script URL per FI — Each institution is configured with a single Glia script URL.
