Minor Account Document Collection

Minor Account Document Collection

When a minor applies for an account, Glide provides a dedicated identity page (/minor/identity) where the minor can upload an ID document. This article explains how document collection works for minors and what financial institutions should expect during review.

How Minor ID Collection Works

Unlike the standard adult applicant flow — where identity is verified automatically through Plaid IDV — minors go through a separate identity collection path. When a minor uploads a document on the minor identity page:

  • The document is not processed through Plaid
  • No automatic verification is performed on the uploaded file
  • The document is stored and surfaced to staff in the dashboard for manual review

Configuration

Requiring a minor ID upload is optional and configurable per financial institution. Some financial institutions require this step; others do not.

For financial institutions where minor document collection is enabled, applications will typically be placed into pending after submission so that staff can review the uploaded ID before approving.

Staff Review

Staff should review the uploaded document directly in the dashboard under the application's Documents tab. Approval or denial of the minor application remains a manual decision based on that review.
