The Journeys feature allows credit unions to create trackable links for events, eligibility groups, promotions, advertisements, and more. Journeys allows credit unions to unlock a new level of attribution when tracking membership applications. Staff members are also able to attach a promotional amount to the Journey link to award members a bonus when they complete the application.

πŸ’‘ The Journeys feature will appear only in staging by default. Reach out to your customer success manager to enable this in production.

How to Create a Journey

To create a Journey link, navigate to the staff dashboard and click on "Journeys" in the navigation bar. Then, click on the "+Create Journey Link" button.

Staff members will be presented with a pop up which will allow configuration of the journey through the following fields. The promotional amount and fields are optional.

  1. Journey Name - Set a journey name for internal purposes. This will not be shown to the member.

  2. Customize link - Choose a link for your journey. The value chosen here will be appended to your URL (For example if you choose "promo," the link for the journey will be "join.cu.org/promo") Links are case insensitive.

  3. Expiration date (optional) - If an expiration date is set, the journey will become inactive at 12:00am (local to your CUs timezone) on the expiration date.

  4. Code use limit - The code use limit allows you to limit how many members can claim the promotional amount, if one is set.

  5. Promotion Amount - The promotion amount gets added to a member's account after it has been funded with the required deposit. This field is optional and can be set to $0 if you do not want to attach a bonus to the journey.

  6. Required deposit - The required deposit is the minimum amount of balance the prime share must have in order to be awarded the promotion amount.

  7. Days active requirement - The days active requirement allows you to set a number of days a membership must be open until the promotion amount is awarded. There is a system minimum of two days if this amount is left blank.

  8. Comments - Add comments for internal purposes. This will not be shown to the member.

Once you create the journey link, be sure to turn the journey link on by clicking the start button (1). On this page, you'll be able to copy the link and download a QR code (2) for the journey.

Clicking on the QR code icon, brings up a QR code pop up. Clicking "Download" allows you to open the QR code in a new tab. You'll then be able to right click and download the QR code as an image.

Journeys on Member Flow Applications

A member can use the link, scan a QR code that uses the link, or enter the journey link into the promo code field to active the journey link. A member can only have one journey activated at a time.

If you've attached a promotion amount to the Journey, applicants using the link will see a banner on the top of the member flow. If no promotion amount is added to the Journey, the banner will not appear.

If you've attached a promotion amount, a banner will also appear on the funding page letting members know the minimum amount to fund set in the "Required deposit" field to claim the promotion.

Journeys on Dashboard Applications

If you are creating an application on the dashboard, add the journey code into the promo code field. For example if the link for the journey is "join.cu.org/june25" then "june25," can be entered in this field.

How the Promotional Amount Gets Awarded

If a journey has a promotional amount attached, Glide uses the Required Deposit (amount that must be deposited into the prime share) and the Days Active Requirement (days membership must be opened), to calculate when to award the member the bonus.

For the Required Deposit, Glide checks the balance of the primary share directly in the core. This way, a member does not have to use Glide to deposit funds into the account in order to meet the Required Deposit requirement, if one is set.

Glide moves money directly from the GL to the members primary share automatically when the member becomes eligible for the bonus.

If you would like to set a specific GL account to use for promotional amounts, please contact your customer success manager. If you are on Jack Henry Symitar, please provide a three digit User Defined GL that is set up in both the test and production cores.

Glide checks each day if there are new members eligible for a credit and awards the promotional amount automatically. This process runs on a daily basis between 12pm and 1pm ET, only on business days.
